Fredericksburg Fire Eaters - Advanced Squad Leader group

Post by Hubcommish » Fri Feb 04, 2011 2:30 am

I found these guys some time ago. And since I'm going to do my best to trick anyone who comes near into playing Advanced Squad Leader (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/243/ ... uad-leader) this info just might become relevant.

"The Fredericksburg Fire Eaters (FFE) Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) Club is devoted to increasing the enjoyment of ASL gamers of all skill levels in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. Organizing games, rules questions, club communications - this is the place. New members are welcome to join in and to join us at our monthly meetings.

Monthly meetings at the Fredericksburg American Legion Post are friendly events where fun and learning are the watch words."

Dude! We're getting into it right now! In the past few years MMP (the company who produces ASL under license after Avalon Hill went under) created ASL intro boxes called Starter Kits. They break down the ASL rules into small chunks for newbies.

I've got Starter Kit #1, Infantry, and #2, Guns. I also have the full ASL 1st ed. rules and the newest 2009 edition of Beyond Valor.

I feel too green to actually head up to the FFE club just yet, but If you wanna play some time, let me know. I'm not up to tanks and stuff yet, but I've got a handle on basic infantry and support weapons.
